Stake Conference

This past weekend commemorated our first Stake Conference as members of our new stake. The Priesthood, Adult and Family sessions were presided over by Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi of the First Quorum of the Seventy. Elder Daryl H. Garn and his wife, Sister Irene H. Garn, current President and Matron of the Arizona Mesa Temple were in attendance as well as President Wesley P. Walker and Sister Beverly Walker of the Arizona Tucson Mission. Stake President Zane Kartchner reiterated the Tucson West Stake Theme for 2009 by reading 2 Nephi 31:20. He challenged each family in our stake to hold a Family Home Evening dedicated to the subject of charity. President Kartchner also encouraged us to engage in family and individual prayer to seek inspiration in regards to charity and to plan and engage our families in acts of anonymous service before the end of the year. He told the children that he would enjoy receiving letters and/or drawings describing what their family did to serve. President Kartchner encouraged us to share our experiences with our Bishop. President Kartchner also took the time to introduce the Stake Theme for 2010- Feed My Sheep.
